🚨Deepfake AI being misused by fraudulent job seekers
Those job postings you see with 100s of applications? Many of them might be North Korean spies!
Companies hiring for remote roles especially in the cybersecurity space are seeing a surge in fraudulent job applications using deepfake AI technology.
The rise of AI-generated profiles means that by 2028 globally 1 in 4 job candidates will be fake, according to research and advisory firm Gartner.
It is estimated that about ~300 north Korean spies were unknowingly hired by US companies. Going by recruiter estimates certain job postings receive up to 100 applications from North Korean spies.
What this means for job seekers: Companies might enforce stricter background checks and might even consider moving to in-person interviews to verify candidate legitimacy.
