What will be AI's impact on hiring and jobs?
AI’s impact on hiring, Apple’s fresh openings, and why showcasing skills matters more than ever. Plus, Perplexity Labs lets you build entire apps with AI.
📈 GenAI's Impact on Hiring
A recent article shows that more than half of US workers are wary of GenAI’s impact on jobs and see it as a systemic risk. Funnily enough only 38% fear for their own specific job.
Workers who used generative AI frequently were three times more likely (74%) than those unfamiliar with specific platforms (27%) to believe that technology could replace them. As they say ignorance is bliss.

However, it's not all doom and gloom. This article sheds light on new careers that can emerge with AI adoption such as AI governance, oversight, AI training & evaluation, and AI integration.
🚨Hiring Alert: Apple has numerous fresh listings for roles like Business Expert, Business Pro, Genius, and Creative across various US locations. Check out their careers page.
🌱 The skills first future: are you equipped?
For a long time we lived in a degree first world. Employers thought degrees were representative of your skill. Not anymore.
In a rapidly evolving job market, particularly with AI reshaping roles, the focus is shifting. An insightful piece from The Aspen Institute — emphasizes a crucial idea: This isn't just about degrees anymore. It's about the tangible skills you possess and can demonstrate.
A few key takeaways for job seekers:
Show it, don’t just say it: Employers are increasingly looking for proven abilities. Think about how you can showcase your skills through projects.
Evergreen Skills: As routine tasks get automated, skills like critical thinking, creativity, and emotional intelligence, along with digital literacy, are paramount.
Always a student mindset: The one-size-fits-all career ladder is gone. AI-driven guidance can help tailor paths, but it starts with you identifying and cultivating in demand skills.
The message is clear: focus on building and articulating your skills to thrive.
